Relax #3. Active Step: Practise ‘instant relaxation’ to help reduce stress

Relax

This technique for reducing stress takes about 10 seconds and can be done anywhere, in any position

1 – Use a trigger word such as “relax” to help you slow down and think about relaxing

2 – Get physically comfortable

3 – Think calming, positive thoughts

4 – Take a deep breath and let it slowly, counting to ten, then repeat.

You can use do this when you feel yourself getting a bit stressed, angry or frustrated. You can also use this to relax deeper when you’re already feeling calm.

A visual reminder (like a photo, or a funny or child-like object) can help you remember to this more regularly.

Relax #2. “Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.” ~ Ovid
