Be Yourself #4. “One of the greatest moments in anybody’s developing experience is when he no longer tries to hide from himself but determines to get acquainted with himself as he really is.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Be Yourself #3. Active Step – Relax, don’t worry about the others

Be Yourself

(Note to self)

See your concern in others, try not to be too concerned with how others see you.

Relax. Don’t worry about looking silly or what others think about you. No one is perfect, everybody makes mistakes. Try to laugh at your mistakes (try to laugh at yourself).

Allow for imperfections – can these be our quirks? And maybe as we grow to allow these in ourselves, we can learn to allow them in others, too.

All flawed, together.

Be Yourself #2. “The blue mountains are of themselves blue mountains; The white clouds are of themselves white clouds.” ~ Zenrin Kushû

Be Yourself #1. Active Step: What do you believe in?

Be Yourself

I suppose that who we really are influences what ‘being ourselves’ really means, and this is not just one thing, and is developing all the time.

To a certain extent the trial and error goes on our whole lives, but maybe the sooner we can work out what our core values and beliefs are – what we like and what we don’t like - the better.

It is, perhaps, from this self-recognition that we can work at accepting, expressing and developing ourselves…

What do you like doing? What are your core values and beliefs?

Introduction to Be Yourself

Be Yourself

We are all unique, but can feel pressure to tow the line and fit into cultural, societal and business ’norms’.

What does being yourself mean?

Maybe it’s not hiding from ourselves.

Perhaps not changing to fit in to one social group or another, trying to be more consistent and secure.

Being happy with who we are, expressing ourselves and learning to love ourselves (and others) more freely.

Celebrating. Developing. Realising.

So, really, who are you?
