Born in LA, California in 1940, Roy Ayers is a pioneering jazz, funk, soul composer and vibraphone player. Also known for the positive message of his productions (often under the pseudonym RAMP) and his soundtrack to the 1973 blaxploitation film, Coffy.

I hope you have a fun bank holiday weekend. There’ll be a new topic starting next week.

Best wishes, James

Be Mindful #7. Active Step: Slow down, enjoy your day. Overcome the desire to rush between jobs and to multi-task (unless totally necessary). Focus on one job at a time and take moments out to appreciate people and experiences along the way.

Be Mindful

Try today to:

  1. Focus on your breathing to help relax you.
  2. Appreciate all your different senses.
  3. Focus on your positive, logicaland calm thoughts.
  4. Focus on what you are doing right now – stay in the moment and enjoy each sensation.
  5. Be aware of what little things give you a sense of satisfaction, achievement, mastery and control.

Compliment on what you get done today. This fleeting congratulation gives you a well earned bounce in your step, which will help propel you forwards.

Be Mindful #6. “I want all my senses engaged. Let me absorb the world’s variety and uniqueness.” ~ Maya Angelou
